Biography

Stella M. Papa received her MD from the National University of Buenos Aires, (Buenos Aires, Argentina). She did her Neurology training followed by Movement Disorder fellowships at the French Hospital (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and the University of Navarra (Pamplona, Spain). She did her Neuropharmacology and Electrophysiology training at the Experimental Therapeutics and Surgical Neurology Branches of NINDS, NIH (Bethesda, MD).  She currently is an Associate Professor of Neurology at Emory University, and holds her own research laboratory, “Experimental Therapeutics for Movement Disorders”. Her work has been focused on pathophysiology and the development of new therapies particularly for Parkinson’s disease. She has made a number of significant contributions and is highly engaged with the national and international scientific community.
